This 4 days Uganda Gorilla trekking & Chimps safari will give any visitor in Uganda a chance to go Gorilla trekking & Chimp tracking. On your way from Kampala towards Kisoro, you will enjoy your journey as most of the time you will get to see the beauty of Uganda. Terraced hills, lush green vegetation and amazing people all these and more. The trekking in Bwindi forest park starts early morning with a small briefing at the park headquarters from the Uganda wildlife authority officials on the whole experience and your guide will lead you. This trek through one of Africa’s most ancient forests in search of the endangered mountain gorillas ranks among the world’s premier activities. Also visits to some local community projects as well either in Buhoma, Ruhija or Rushaga depending on the permits available.
Later on your trip, drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth park, you could possibly see those tree climbing lions or not, then relax at one of the lodges within this area. Next day, a chimp tracking experience in Kalinzu forest in search of primates & birds as well.
Itinerary
Day 1:Arrival at Entebbe, transfer to Kampala.
Our Tourist driver / guide will be at Entebbe International Airport to pick you up from your flight. He will then bring you to Kampala capital city for Dinner & Overnight stay.

Day 2: Drive to Bwindi
Early morning, your safari begins with a drive to Bwindi impenetrable forest park via Kabale – Kisoro in the south-western part of Uganda and close to the borders with Rwanda and Congo. You get to cross the most beautiful part of the country with terraced hills, also known as the ‘Switzerland of Africa’. You will see a great country-side, bamboo forest and have great views over the Virunga Mountains. For lunch you will stop at a Restaurant en-route to Bwindi.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest
Early morning, you will prepare yourself ready to encounter one of Bwindi’s gentle giants in the forest/Uganda Gorilla trekking. A briefing from the UWA staff about the trekking and a few rules. Remember to pack your raincoat, boots, and some drinking water. It’s also advised to have done some medical checkup because you will have to be checked before the trekking and this is because Mountain gorillas are highly susceptible to human diseases. About 5 Primate species, 113 species of mammals, 200 butterflies & 300 birds can be found in the impenetrable forest. There are nine habituated Gorilla groups/ families and each group will be tracked by not more than a group of 8 tourists. This exciting journey along the forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes & bamboo is indeed overwhelming and remember to carry a camera with good or extra battery. Your guide will be pointing out previous gorilla activity including dung nests and chewed bamboo shoots. It takes about 2 – 7hours to track the mountain gorillas depending on how far they have gone. After gorilla tracking, you will be transferred to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park and if lucky you will spot the tree climbing Lions.

Day 4: Chimp tracking in Kalinzu forest reserve
Early morning, after breakfast, you start with Chimp Tracking at Kalinzu Forest reserve in search of chimpanzees, other primates and birds as well and then continue your drive back to Kampala or Entebbe (Airport). Of course, you stop at the equator, the best place for your souvenir shopping. Later transfer back to Entebbe Airport for your flight.
