What to Pack for Gorilla Trekking in Uganda

Essential gorilla trekking gear
- Hiking boots — ankle support, broken in, waterproof
- Long trousers & long sleeves — nettles and thorns
- Gardening gloves — grip vegetation on steep sections
- Light rain jacket — Bwindi is rainforest; rain any month
- Day pack — water (2L), snacks, camera (no flash)
- Neutral colours — green, brown, khaki (no bright red)
Optional but recommended
Porter ($15–20) to carry your pack — supports local employment. Walking stick (often provided). Insect repellent. Small tip for guides and trackers (USD cash).

Can I wear shorts for gorilla trekking?
