Gorilla trekking packages in Uganda: from 3 days
Six of our packages put mountain gorilla trekking first. Trek day is the same in each: a briefing, a forest hike of 1 to 6 hours, then one hour with a habituated gorilla family. What differs is how you reach the forest and what surrounds it.
- 3-Day Bwindi Gorilla Trekking, Batwa and Lake Bunyonyi, from $1,348. The most complete three-day Bwindi circuit we run, with a Batwa cultural encounter and a recovery stop at Lake Bunyonyi.
- 3-Day Gorilla Trekking Starting from Kigali, from $1,574. Useful if you are already flying into Rwanda.
- 3-Day Fly in Gorilla Tour, from $2,250. A domestic flight replaces the long drive and gives you more time in the forest.
- 4-Day Gorillas and Chimpanzee Trekking Safari, from $1,721. Adds Kibale chimpanzees to the gorillas.
- 4-Day Luxury Uganda Gorilla Safari, from $3,849. The same trek with premium lodges and slower pacing.
- 5-Day Gorillas, Lake Mburo and Lake Bunyonyi, from $2,769. A zebra walk, a Buhoma trek and a lake night.
Our shortest signature journey, the 3-Day Gorilla Trek in Bwindi, is shown from $1,431 with the $800 permit included. The road from Entebbe to Bwindi takes about 8 to 10 hours, so compare flying versus driving. The minimum age is 15. Read how difficult gorilla trekking is and our Bwindi sectors guide.

Uganda gorilla safari with chimpanzees: 4 to 14 days
Longer packages combine both great apes with game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
- 4-Day Chimpanzees then Gorillas: Kibale to Buhoma, from $2,879, and 3-Day Kibale Chimpanzee Trek and Bigodi Wetland, from $1,400.
- 5-Day Wildlife, Chimpanzee and Gorilla Trekking, from $2,199.
- 7-Day Gorillas, Chimpanzee and Wildlife Tour, from $2,700. See a worked 7-day Uganda itinerary.
- 10-Day Wildlife, Big 5, Chimpanzee and Gorilla Safari, from $3,713.
- 14-Day Uganda Gorilla, Chimpanzees and Wildlife Safari, from $4,331.
A chimpanzee permit for Kibale costs $300 per person in 2027. Our Kibale chimpanzee guide explains the permit, the walk and what to expect.
Uganda holidays with Big Five and wildlife
You can see all of the Big Five in Uganda. Lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo live in Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth national parks, and you see white rhino on foot at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, on the road north from Kampala. Wildlife is wild, so we never promise a particular animal.
- 8-Day The Big-5 Uganda Tour, from $3,288, and 8-Day Uganda Luxury Safari, Big Five Wildlife Adventure, from $4,984.
- 3-Day Safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park, from $956, and 3-Day Murchison Falls Safari, Midrange, from $1,041.
- Newer routes: Queen Elizabeth Savannah and Kazinga Channel, from $1,269, Murchison Falls: Nile Launch and Savannah, from $1,297, and Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth, from $1,615.
- 12-Day Best of Uganda Wildlife with Primates Safari, from $4,556.

How to choose your package
- Count your days. Three days gives you one big experience. Seven to ten days adds chimpanzees and a savanna park.
- Pick your must-see. Gorillas lead to Bwindi, chimpanzees to Kibale, lions and boat cruises to Queen Elizabeth or Murchison.
- Set your comfort level. Luxury lodges add cost. See Uganda safari cost in 2027.
On a budget? A budget Uganda safari usually means the 3-day Queen Elizabeth or Murchison packages, or the lowest-priced gorilla trek, at midrange lodges and in the April, May or November low season. Every route is a template we adjust to your dates, fitness and lodge preference. Our planning guide covers the rest.

Frequently asked questions
How much do Uganda safari packages cost in 2027?
Uganda safari prices on our published packages start from $956 per person for 3 days in Queen Elizabeth, from $1,348 for a 3-day gorilla trek, from $2,700 for 7 days and from $3,713 for 10 days. Prices are in US dollars per person, exclude international flights, and are confirmed in a written quote.
What is the cheapest Uganda gorilla safari package?
Our lowest published gorilla trekking package from-price is $1,348 per person for 3 days in Bwindi with a Batwa visit and Lake Bunyonyi. The gorilla permit is $800 per person, and your written quote states whether it is included.
How many days do I need for a Uganda gorilla safari with chimpanzees?
Four days is the minimum for gorillas in Bwindi plus chimpanzees in Kibale. Add game drives and a week to ten days works well.
Are permits included in the package price?
Permits are included when your written quote says so. The 2027 gorilla permit is $800 per person and the chimpanzee permit is $300.
When should I book a 2027 Uganda safari package?
As early as you can for June to August and December, which sell out first, usually 4 to 6 months ahead. April, May and November have lower permit rates and more availability.
Is there a budget Uganda safari package?
Our lowest from-prices are $956 per person for 3 days in Queen Elizabeth, $1,041 for 3 days in Murchison Falls and $1,348 for a 3-day gorilla trek. Lodge level and travel month move the price most, so ask us to cost the same trip at budget and mid-range.
Do I need a yellow fever certificate for Uganda?
No. Since the official notice of 2 October 2026, a yellow fever certificate is no longer required for entry. Travel insurance is not included in our quotes, so arrange your own.
How much deposit do you take?
A 30% deposit confirms your booking and the balance is due 60 days before departure. Permits are non-refundable once purchased, and our payment page sets out the full cancellation terms.
